You are here: Home » truth » Do Christians Today Serve Jesus Christ more than John Calvin?

Many young atheists today have come out of
the Reformed Church, a doctrine of Calvinism. Why? Because they were confused
by this doctrine.
“For God is not the author of confusion, but
of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”
1st Corinth. 14:33.
A theologian admired by many once wrote, “We
may rest assured that God would never have suffered any infants to be slain
except those who were already damned and predestined for eternal death.”
— John Calvin, Harmony of the Law Vol. 2, pg.63.

You cannot trust in a man who is
contradicting in his theological views.
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not
hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such
as these." Matt. 19:14.
We should not have our faith defined by a
man, but by Christ.
“One of you says, "I follow Paul"; another, "I follow
Apollos"; another, "I follow Cephas"; still another,
"I follow Christ." 1st Corinth. 1:12.
Jesus spoke of a future church and said, “At
that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and
hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,” Matthew 24:10-12.
Jesus said, “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by
itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain
in me” John 15:4.
Jesus said, “For I have come down from heaven
not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will
of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but
raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone
who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I
will raise them up at the last day” John 6:38-40.
“If anyone teaches otherwise and does not
agree to the sound instruction of our LORD Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4they
are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in
controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious
talk, evil suspicions” 1 Timothy 6:3-4.
Those given to Christ are those whom He
foreknew would remain in Him (Romans 11:2).
Referring to the Jews who did not remain
faithful, and addressing the Gentiles, Paul states, “Consider therefore the
kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to
you, provided
that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.
And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will
be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again”
(v.22). “God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew”
(Romans 11:2).
Read the Bible to see
what Christ teaches, and do not read the Bible through a doctrinal lens named
after a flawed human.
